# Garbled characters in exported files

If there are garbled characters in the exported .csv file, you should follow the steps below:

1. Open a new Excel File
2. Select “From Text” under the “Data” toolbar

1. Click the .csv file you just downloaded and click “import”

1. In the "Text Import Wizard" pop up box, click "Original data type" select "Separator"
2. In the “Text Import Wizard” pop up box, Select "UTF-8" in "File Source" and click "Next"

1. In the "Text Import Wizard" pop-up box, check "Comma" and then click "Next"
